Wayne Alan Grading
Certified Condition Scale
WAG Certified Cards undergo inspection by the same world class professionals that handle WAG's standard grading.
This ensures that you receive exactly what's on the label, every time.
MINT
In order for a card to qualify for WAG's MINT certification, a card must essentially be "pack fresh" with no major manufacturing flaws. Allowances are made for minor manufacturing imperfections such as a minor print line, suboptimal cut, or other non-visually deterring imperfection(s). WAG MINT certification cards carry a special guarantee that if they are submitted back to WAG inside their holder for grading, they will grade at a 9 or better.
NM (+/-)
Near Mint plus, standard, and minus cards all exhibit some degree of minor imperfection(s) that disqualify them from MINT certification, while still being immaculate copies to most collectors. Imperfections within the NM category should not detract from the card's overall appeal or be reasonably viewed as significant imperfections to most collectors. Minor edge wear or small surface imperfections on otherwise beautiful cards will qualify here.
LP (+/-)
Cards within the Lightly Played category start to show more noticeable wear, but nothing that would deter most collectors. LP cards often display beautifully in their WAG holder, as their imperfections tend to only become apparent when inspecting more closely. Edge wear becomes more significant in this category and surface imperfections will often be present. Allowances are made for a minor binder dent or fingernail imprint, but no frayed edges, creases, tears, or stains are allowed.
MP (+/-)
Moderately played cards tend to show more significant wear, but are structurally sound and often times display wonderfully in binder collections or within their WAG Certified holder. More significant surface imperfections and edge whitening are often present in this category. Allowances are made for minor dents, surface wrinkles, or creases as long as they are not egregious or would make the card appear heavily worn to most collectors.
HP (+/-)
As the name implies, heavily played cards start to show significant wear. Significant whitening, surface scratching, more noticeable creases or dents, and staining end up in this category as long as the card is still structurally sound. Folds, tears, heavy dents, creases, or missing pieces of a card are not allowed, but most other things are often present in HP cards.
DMG
DMG or "Damaged" is the final condition in the WAG Certified condition scale. Cards here are often times not completely structurally sound, with heavy creases, poor surfaces, heavily frayed edges and heavy staining, but are still intact enough to be able to be authenticated by a WAG professional and placed safely into their holder.
